Interactions for Peace is a non-profit 501 C3 corporation which was officially founded in 2001 but it began over 20 years prior as Peace Patrol. It has grown into a collection of inter-related systemic practices and programs with curriculum and strategies that enable people of all ages to become effective problem solvers and peacemakers. Even though these strategies can empower all people, the organization's main focus is to begin with the children, because our youth build the foundation for the future. The motivation is to move systems toward prevention and restoration, and away from reaction and punishment.
In order to transform our youth, Interactions for Peace has created practices, programs, and partnerships which work with children beginning in pre-school up to college-age youth. The youth then become the "teachers of peace" laying the foundation for lifelong peaceful interactions.
Interactions for Peace identifies Five Essential Elements that guide and focus all curriculum. These elements establish a strong foundation of self-awareness and respect for others; cooperation; communication; peaceful conflict resolution; parent connections and community service which become internalized within individuals of all ages.
